Instructional Technology
Specialist
Along with Linda Reardon (TCP/Media Specialist), my responsibilities
at SVH involve working with teachers and students to expand the effective
use of technology throughout the curriculum--to collaborate in desiging
innovative instruction, to suggest strategies, to improve
skills, to locate resources, and to act as a liaison with district tech
support. Basically we are here to smooth the way for rich and varied
technology integration by our extremely talented faculty!
Instructional
Technology
at Spring
Valley High School
Spring Valley High School
and the Richland 2 School District provide extensive support for teachers'
integration of technology in the classroom.
The district provides professional development through its T
for Two courses
and the ITS program; it maintains a rich array
of documentation, tutorials and other resources
for teachers on its website.
Spring Valley participates
in district-wide initiatives such as TECh Mentors and ITEC classrooms.
The technology specialists are available for individual and group consulting,
training and troubleshooting and the Media Center is home to a variety
of equipment and materials. The school continues to invest in Interactive
white boards, classroom response systems and other current technology
that will benefit all of our students. Computer labs are located throughout
the school along with several mobile laptop labs, allowing for frequent
computer-based activities.
