APPLICATIONS, INTERVIEWS, AND ADMISSION DATES

Please email Dr. Harriford-Platt with any questions at Wplatt@richland2.org
Students will do the following:
-
Complete an SVHS AVID application of interest.
-
All applications are due by Sunday, March 8, 2026, by 11:59 pm.
-
Students will receive notification of their DIGITAL interview after they submit the application.
-
If you meet the requirements for the AVID elective, you will be invited to join a Google Classroom to complete your interview and writing sample process.
-
The interview process contains 3 steps:
-
You must have 2 teachers complete the recommendation link.
-
You must answer a writing sample prompt and turn in your response.
-
You must record the responses to your interview questions on a one-take video and SUBMIT IT by the deadline.
The teacher recommendations, the recorded interview, and the essay prompt deadline are due 2 weeks after your email is sent for the Interview.
Due to the time limit, no LATE submissions will be accepted.
Letters of admission will go out after the digital interview is complete and scored. See dates above.
**Please note, students must live in the SVHS zone. If students wish to apply for magnets and want to be in AVID, please encourage them to apply for both. If spaces are still available, a new round of applications will begin in April.
